November 24, 2006, Newsletter Issue #2: Parental Involvement

Tip of the Week

Parents can help a coach in many ways, such as:
1. A team communicator. Making phone calls to players and parents.
2. Copy person. Makes copies of schedules, directions or announcements.
3. Fundraising leader. Oversees fund raising programs.
4. Scorekeeper. You need someone who already knows how to keep score
5. Back up scorekeepers. In case the first canīt make it.
Having parents available for these responsibilities cuts down on the coaches added job, and leaves more time for coaching skills.
